Finding the Best Remote Control Helicopter

Remote control helicopters are great toys for children and for adults alike. They are really good fun to fly and can add a lot of amusement and laughs, even the family pets get involved trying to jump up and catch them, just make sure you don't fly one around the house if your cat's name is Michael Jordan :-)

As remote control helicopters are relatively cheap, they make for great gifts for all ages. I was bought one for Xmas when I was 26 and it got a fair bit if use, so if you buy one for a younger child then they will provide hours of fun. They are a great way to make children more active as you move around picking it up when you do have the occasional crash (perhaps I need to practice more). So if you or your children sit in front of the TV or computer to keep yourself amused, then why not try a remote control helicopter to get you off your butt.

I had a look at some of the different models out there and picked what I thought were to best ones...

Measuring only 7.5" the Syma helicopter is small enough to fly it around your house without crashing into walls, but if you do crash then don't worry its built for it. It utilizes the latest gyroscope technology which gives a great level of control considering its very affordable price of only around $30.

Most indoor helicopters are use a 3 channel frequency for controlling the craft, but the JXD helicopter uses 4 channels, so what this means is you can drift left and right adding a whole extra dimension in controlling your helicopter.

• If you want to fly with a friend then no problem as this helicopter has 2 separate frequencies it transmits on,
• 4 channel infa-red remote control for added "drift".
• On board light that can be turned on and off from remote control. Cool for flying in the dark and scaring your friends.
• Takes 6 AA batteries, so you might want to consider buying rechargeable ones.

If you want to fly a remote control helicopter outdoors, then this is the one for you. It has a larger body for outdoor use so it's not so affected by the wind. Made from lightweight metal it is tough yet still highly maneuverable.
